My name is Yerima (also known as Musa) and I’m from Borno State. I don’t know my real age because during the time I was born back where I’m from, date of births weren’t recorded. My first time in Lagos was back in 2008 shortly after my dad died. Prior to his death I used to be a farmer in the North. I grew all sorts from corn, rice and ground nut and made a lucrative business out of it. Then we sold a bag of beans & corn for 7000 & 4000 naira respectively. Shortly after my father died, his brothers came to acquire all the land he had left for us, leaving me to look for other sources of income to take care of my mother and younger ones. A friend brought me down to Lagos in 2008 and asked me to replace him temporarily as a security guard while he went home for a few months. I did this for a few friends for 3 years until a close friend found a more permanent job for me as a security man in Kosofe, Lagos. On getting to this new job he suggested a name change from Yerima to Musa because he felt Yerima was difficult to pronounce.
My next goal is to get married and have kids. I met my fiancée who’s currently staying in Yobe State through a friend who attended the same Arabic school as her. I’m yet to physically meet her, but we’ve been talking over the phone for the past year and half and she comes across as a decent girl. Unfortunately after getting married she’ll have to remain back in the North with our future kids
