“This is my family business. Selling popcorn is one of our means of survival. We have many other stands around this area and afar. While I am in charge of the stand here, my father and my elder brothers manage those in other locations. I just completed my senior secondary school education so, while I await getting admission to the University of Ibadan, I was told to take charge of the stand here. At first, I wasn’t really fine with coming to stay here to sell popcorn as I was afraid and bothered my friends will see me and make fun of me. Along the line however, I realized it is my own little way of assisting my family and ever since then I developed the courage to face this reality. I do not feel ashamed or intimidated by the taunts of some of my friends who come around. With the little time left till I gain admission into the University of Ibadan, I am more concerned about making more sales than whatever the opinions of these friends are”
